Yellow fucking hurts after reading that it's about her mom "loving you isn't enough, you'll still be deep in the ground when it's done"
I really hope she goes further down the rabbit hole with stuff like Yellow in the future. It works so well for her.
Don't know if this is true for a lot of people here, but I've barely listened to music since quarantine started. Even stuff I've loved I haven't listened to more than a few times, because I normally listen on my commute and I've been stuck at home all the time This album falls into that category
I think this affected podcasts for me more than music. Though I will say my vinyl listening has taken up a much larger percentage of my music listening during quarantine
i work from home in an office so im basically listening to music for 8 hours a day and then podcasts for another hour or so on the intermittent walks i take.
I’m listening way more. I used to listen mostly on my commute but since June last year I was cycling to work and couldn’t listen to much. Now I’m non stop listening to stuff
I go between listening to way more music than usual and then periods of way less. It pretty much goes along with wherever my mental state is at the time.
Used some app to check my Spotify stats last week, and “Crawling In My Skin” is my most played song of 2020 so far. Not surprised at all.
Same here. I was just looking at my 2020 playlist and seeing so much great music and it made me sad to think about how much of the stuff I've barely even touched in 6 months, even though I love it.
I keep forgetting this came out in 2020, haha. My first listen of this being on a drive home from work feels like a weirdly dated experience. This year has truly been 50 months long
Also I feel like I am listening to way more music now than ever. If you look at albums coming out each week chances are you will quickly realize a ton of fantastic music is released each week. Listening to new music is something that has kept me sane during an insane time. I've seen some people say that because of the pandemic there hasn't been as much quality music/albums released but I completely beg to differ there, I've consumed a lot of quality new tunes.
This was the last LP I bought at a record store before lockdown started. I love it, but sometimes have gone long periods without listening.
i listen to this record pretty much once a week for the past 3 or 4 months. probably the most important thing that came out for me this year despite not knowing the band prior.
