Here for it. I know it's popular to shit on them but they're one of the bands I credit with getting me into the whole 'music thing' properly and they are fucking transcendent live. Cannot wait.
Sounding like the perfect follow up to Fallen Empires!! Track listing: 1. Life On Earth 2. Don’t Give In 3. Heal Me 4. Empress 5. A Dark Switch 6. What If This Is All The Love You Ever Get? 7. A Youth Written In Fire 8. Soon 9. Wild Horses 10. Life And Death
To me, the tracklisting order made it meh. When you change it around, it’s actually a lot better. Improved Track Order: 1. Heal Me 2. A Dark Switch 3. A Youth Written in Fire 4. Life on Earth 5. Don’t Give In 6. Empress 7. What if This Is All the Love (Alternate Version) 8. Life and Death 9. Wild Horses 10. Soon The weakest tracks to me are Wild Horses and Soon. But I would consider Empress, Heal Me, A Youth Written in Fire, and the alternate version of WITIATLYEG as some of the best material of 2018, much less from Snow Patrol.
The high points are really high, but it doesn’t feel like that cohesive a piece of work. That was always my favourite thing about A Hundred Million Suns. I also missed a really rock-y track here.
Snow Patrol's Gary Lightbody issues update on future of band after two members leave "We are currently working on a new album which will be out next year. I’m so excited about the songs we’ve written for it, and we can’t wait to share them with you.
I remember liking a few of the alternate versions from their last one Wildness better than the actual album cuts, but i listened to it a lot for a long time after it came out. Haven't revisited it in a little bit.
