Wonder what she’ll play. Title track?

 

One of my least favorite songs on the record, but sounds great there. Feels like it’s in a different key and that vocal delivery fits a lot better. The flashy version of that guitar solo is nice, sometimes I forget how proficient she is

 

These songs are going to change quite a bit now that she’s had her surgery and recovered.

Haven't really listened to this more than once or twice since it came out but I'm seeing her with Turnstile Sunday so I've been giving it another grow and it's growing on me. Haven't seen her since January 2018, crazy it's been almost 5 years

 

Yeah this album has aged pretty well for me. Love Headlock, Madonna, and Forever (Sailing)

 

Forever (Sailing) is my current standout, and Madonna is up there too.

 

I want to go to the show Sunday but tickets are quite pricey, so we’ll see. This album has grown on me as well since it came out.

 

Lush means more to me but this is probably the better album overall

 

Still prefer Lush but this album is very good

 

Snail Mail Launches Valentine Fest in Baltimore

Another artist heads for the residency world...

“Valentine Fest” was initially set to take place earlier this year in the same time frame, but Jordan needed more time to recover from her late 2021 vocal cord surgery which delayed her touring schedule. The five-night festival is now slated to take place on February 10-14, 2023 in Baltimore with Snail Mail performing a varied set list each night, supplemented by a lineup of special guests that the singer curated herself but chose to remain secretive about.

The accompanying poster for the festival, drawn by artist Corrinne James, includes visual Easter eggs for its guests, leaving fans to do some hypothesizing of their own to figure out who will be joining her. But, if pointers for a couple guests are needed, think of bands named after suburban mothers, or a veteran indie stalwart — who Jordan previously opened for — with a previous album title that likens them to an aged dog.

“We have some fucking insane bands on there, one of them I’m pretty sure is getting back together just for this,” Jordan teased. “The idea was to have a new band that we are friends with and admire as the first opener, a legend as the second and then Snail Mail. So the lineup would be the future, the past and the present.”

 

That's so cool. It makes a lot of sense. I was really struck by her screen presence in her recent videos which isn't something I think about often.

 

I love Lindsey but this is just so bad. Sloppy playing, playing the wrong notes, way off vocals, out of time at times (i.e. Pristine), etc.

All that to say…I genuinely hope everything is okay with her and this was just a one off bad performance. I know she had lots of issues on the Turnstile tour as well and I don’t want to make any assumptions, so I wish her the best if there is anything going on.
