Light On Our Feet is sooo good. I don’t really find this dull at all. I feel like I find it more engaging than the last one, although it’s been a long time since I’ve listened so maybe I’m misremembering. The run from Light On Our Feet through Dead End is especially great but the whole thing is solid. Really happy with this and I feel like it’s going to continue to grow.
I can’t not hear, ‘moving to the country, going to eat a lot of peaches’ in the intro to Tractor Beam.
I think I was initially dissapointed by this because I really loved My Maker and the ethereal, airy vibe that that song has is mostly abandoned after the first 4 songs but as Im getting used to what the album actually is, I am liking it more and more. Cruise and Ricochet are currently the ones that I'm thinking the most about and the instrumental break in Butterfly is such a huge highlight.
I went to the Chicago show yesterday and had a great time! The new songs sounded very good live and I will never get tired of hearing the old songs. I’ve been to just about every headlining Snail Mail show in Chicago spanning nearly a decade now and I always have a great time! I saw people waiting around after the show near the tour bus so ended up waiting (she usually ends up coming out and meeting fans after her shows) and it took a while of waiting but she did come out and meet the 7 or so of us that were waiting and had a very chill conversation with all of us. I also got a picture with her and she is, as always, so nice to talk to!
Love this. Easily in my top 3 of the year so far. Light on our feet gives me big Elliott Smith vibes.
This is really good! Well worth the wait. I had no idea she had vocal surgery, that must've been so scary! I'm looking forward to seeing her in... like a week? Wow
Went in Phoenix on Thursday since I’ve been down here for a few weeks, admittedly mostly for Armlock, but yeah she and the rest of the band sounded great There were about 400-500 heads in an 1800 cap venue that I’ve never not seen sell out. I’m going again in Portland with my wife when I get home next week, where there’s been a venue change from the original 1500 cap room down to an 800. Maybe I’m just getting two weird dates, but it seems she either overestimated her pull on this run or folks are just really not turning out
