This sounds a little closer to Momma than I thought it was going to but it definitely rocks

I like this song, not blowing me away or anything but it’s got a good hook.

Song is great. I didn’t really care for Valentine but if the rest is this good I’m back on board

I think Valentine is far and away her best stuff, I liked the first single from this but the second isn’t grabbing me yet.

Valentine is the only Snail Mail release so far that I enjoy front-to-back, but the rest of her catalogue has some very high highs

it’s true tho. I am content being alone on this one lol. I find Lush to be a rather same-y and meandering full album experience with a couple standouts that themselves never really were such strong highlights I found myself revisiting them often, and definitely never compelled me enough to want to keep giving the album more of a shot to grow on me. I liked Habit a decent amount when it came out but it wasn’t something that had a lasting impact on me either. I felt the songwriting on Valentine was much sharper, felt like she was branching out a lot more texturally, and I felt the album as a whole had more focus despite being more varied sonically than prior works.

in all honesty, the new songs (while good) strike me as a bit of a regression personally, like Valentine didn’t really get the reception she was hoping for so she’s eschewing most of its eccentricities. thankfully, I feel like she has improved enough as a songwriter to sell me on it, at least so far.
