Hoping there’s a CD box as there have been with the others. Feels like possibly there could be with the full thing being 80 songs? The announcement seems to only indicate that there wil be an og Machina repress in August, not the format for the double album unless I’m missing something.

 

Yeah they probably want/need a breather from the heavy touring they’ve done the last few years or they just want time to work on other projects. Just found out today that James did all the music for That 90’s Show, which I thought was interesting. Maybe he’s getting back into scoring again and wants time to do that too

 

Boston sold out very fast if this was a presale in name only like most shows seem to be these days

 

I always root for James even if most of his work outside of SP is not really my bag,. I think his biggest outside contributions to my listening have been his cameo on FoW's "all kinds of time" and his surprisingly great Ladytron remix

 

Surprisingly for NYC I logged on 40 minutes after the presale started and there were still tickets. I ended up passing because it'll already be a busy week for me and dont wanna squeeze in another show. BUT was pleased to see tickets were only $75 after fees.
NYC venue is only 1,000 cap too.

Really fucking annoyed that the complete 48 song Machina will only be available on vinyl at his tea shop. Goddamn you Corgan.

 

Well that blows. I was really hoping this would be on streaming. You know, like every other SP reissue…

 

I hate these bloated releases too. Just press Machina 1+2 and leave out the bonus crap IMO.

 

It doubly sucks because I see a lot of songs I've never heard of before. I wonder if they're finished versions of other songs or what the story is there.

 

Fwiw, a few months ago when he started hyping this, he suggested CD box and streaming will probably happen as long as the vinyl sells out. My sense is this took so long partly because label interest in funding it was minimal, so he wants to really make sure he makes his $$ on this one. I don’t love it (and am not gonna be dropping $325+shipping for the wrong format for a box set release lol), but I can kinda understand it. Looking forward to hearing it eventually.

The trolling of this whole release is actually pretty funny. First world problems funny.

Regardless, this is a must grab for me since it's my favorite SP album.

 

I'm not really sure what's meant by this, but not everyone is going to drop hundreds of dollars on a niche format; sorry vinyl enthusiasts.

 

We should all pool in to buy a copy and then rip it
