So stoked for new Pumpkins please be good, please be good I’ve got no idea what to expect with it really but I’d love for them to come straight out with a heavy song like Zero or The Everlasting Gaze.
I'd be so stoked if it's something dream pop/shoegaze. I'm sure it'll be more straight up rock n roll though
I’d like to think they’ll lead with something with a big chorus at the very least. I’m stoked to hear Jimmy’s drumming back in Pumpkins, I really feel he’s style has been missed on the last few records.
I might have just bought Siamese Dream on vinyl thanks to this thread bumping and me putting SP on this evening. I’m up to 4 SP albums on vinyl now, I’m very slowing growing my collection.
Solara is a leftover Monuments track so I suppose we all could have an idea of what it will sound like, but I, too, hope it's a banger!
Apparently Solara has leaked--anyone heard it? I won't be able to until late tonight, but I need to hear what you all think!
Looks is like the vid has been pulled but i’ll keep searching. Alternative Nation described it as this which sounds promising.
I just heard it and I am mixed on it. It's doesn't What I like about it: Well...It's new SP material so I'm happy about that. It'll ware on me for sure. It has some thick pumpkin guitar texture all over it. It sounds like the pumpkins for sure. It's got that signature texture. JC's drum parts are awesome on this. I think that's where MTAE fell flat. It has a "Zeitgeisty" part on it that they kinda played around with on the song Starz. I think it'll sound pretty cool in a live environment, perhaps better than the recording. It's got a pretty catchy chorus. What I don't like about it: it falls a bit flat in some places. Especially for a single? Some of the vocal harmony choices seem a bit poor. There's a part that BC sounds like he is really struggling to hit the correct note? I thought it could have used some different guitar harmonies/layers in parts of it. It definitely sounds like it was written for MTAE with way better drums.
On first listen, the vocals were the weakest part of this for me. Jimmy still slays behind a kit though, man he's a wizard.
