Smashing Pumpkins Looking for New Guitarist

pretty cool actually. I remember they had a younger drummer for a while I think they found on youtube maybe? thats cool they take this "anyone is welcome to try" approach.

 

It’s cool but surprising that they’re soliciting resumes like it’s just any old job. One would think these guys might organically find someone they are already connected to in some way, as opposed to someone who has the chops as well as the “cool factor” or whatever personality vibe is needed to fit in with the actual smashing pumpkins. With that said, I’d watch a contest tv show of this. Missed opportunity.

 

They should bring in Matt Skiba

 

I could totally fill this role if the setlist was kept to 1998 and before.

I actually play way more guitar than bass these days, but I really just want to play "1979" once with them.

 

They did it before with their old drummer. Pretty cool they are doing it again

What's that, Billy? A 33 Track Rock Opera that no one wants? Sure - let's play those songs on an amphitheater tour!

 

I'd get fired the first day because during a break, I'd randomly start playing "Slunk" or something, crowd would get fired up and Billy would be pissed.

 

My first thought when I saw this thread was of Kris Roe throwing a drum set.
