Yeah, I’m already at a place where I love every song. Shanty is the only one I had to let myself acclimate to a little bit since Slomo really reset the bar for Slowdive openers. But it’s hard to deny that it succeeds in setting the tone for the record
It took me a few listens to warm up to this album but it's a really solid follow up to the self titled. I'm really bummed I can't catch them on tour this month, hope they come back again next year.
Was iffy on this at first but it’s just a bit different than what I expected yet they nailed it again, such a special and consistent band
Caught them live tonight, was truly a dream. One of the best shows I’ve seen and also one of the loudest edit - Not that I didn’t already love the record, but it made me appreciate the new songs even more. They did Shanty, Kisses, and The Slab. They swapped out Prayer Remembered for Dagger which I was NOT prepared for, and made for the second time a show has actually made me cry lol
Nothing on the new record has that rush of Star Roving, but I'm glad Neil didn't try to force another song like that. That song probably was inspired by the exultation of their comeback in 2014 and those feelings can't be replicated.
When I saw them in Philly in November they were amazing. The comedown when the show ended really hit me, I wanted them to keep going lol
They sounded crazy good and extremely loud in the Roadrunner on Sunday. A bit sad I had to skip out early on their SITW set but my feet were in so much pain from standing for nearly 2 straight days I could only make it like 45min through.
