Just saw them live last weekend at our local festival, it was amazing yet another time around, loved it! Really enjoy the new singles too, they only played kisses though

 

Any impressions on the second and third singles in here? I’ve been purposefully avoiding since this thing only runs for 8 tracks

 

I like them all but think the second was the weakest. Third one is a little darker and weirder which I am all for. Forgot this was only 8 tracks so I’ll give the singles a rest for a bit now

 

Same here, had I known it's only 8 tracks I wouldn't have checked that 3rd single out at all (it's really a great one though!)

 

It’s been pouring all day, hoping it lets up by 9:00 so I can take a walk and give this thing a listen. So stoked this day is finally here

 

I've been so excited for this one. 2017 S/t is one of my favorite albums ever. Whole LP is already up on Slowdive's youtube if you can use a VPN!

 

Still haven't listened but it's very good from what I read

 

Whew, come on. This is great. I love how soft these songs feel, which I think is in large part due to the drum production. So many great synth tones too. Where other popular shoegaze bands want to pummel you with reverb, Slowdive really excels at weaving you into a cloud of texture. And the sequencing - this band really knows how to let their music take you for a ride

Initially I was hoping for some bigger dynamic shifts in a few of these songs, but given Neil’s comment about this starting as a minimal electronic record, it tracks that they don’t really explode for the most part. Can’t say I don’t wish there was maybe at least one song with a ramped up chorus, but I still really love what we got

 

They don’t miss!!!!

 

Like the last album, I’m immediately grabbed by the opener. Wow

 

Pretty sure I left my body while listening to "chained to a cloud."

 

Excited to check it out. The 2017 album is very special to me
