This live DVD from the year after Iowa came out was the first Slipknot thing I ever came across. Had never seen anything like it before. "This song is going to kick your fuckin ass, London. This song.. is called... Disasterpiece, heeere we gooooo..."
Slipknot and Marilyn Manson were the only two artists that really scared the shit out of me as a child
Oh man, Disasterpiece is still one of my favorite live records. That version of "Purity" is my absolute favorite.
"This song is is about a girl.... in a box." My friends say that to each other all the damn time. No context needed. I don't find live Slipknot records particiaularly interesting because, no joke, ever track begins with "This song is called....".
I would ask "does anyone really want that?" but the Knot has done 10th anniversry ediitions of the previous 3 albums, so it makes sense.
1. Iowa 2. Vol 3 3. Slipknot 4. All Hope Is Gone 5. Grey Grey was a bit of a bummer for me, couldn't get into it all to be honest...
I strongly dislike the name and the cover of ".5: The Grey Chapter". The music, however, is fantastic.
Yea Gray Chapter's cover is a bit...gaudy might be the way I'd describe it? I dunno, it's weird though and not in the way they should be. But it's whatever. So I get that All Hope Is Gone is very whatever to most fans and it's very much unlike Slipknot but.....lowkey there are some fuckin great tracks on it. Wherein Lies Continue and Gemetria still get me.
