Laura Jane Grace did not get on with him in AM, and publicly alluded to a few disagreements. But the band specify it was a "creative decision" so... Who knows?

Tweets gone and I didn’t know Jay was a drama queen? I love his drumming in Slipknot

 

I recall LJG tweeting something like “hey Slipknot, congrats on your new Dirtbag drummer” before the tech officially leaked it. But I could be wrong. Maybe I have the order of events mixed up
