Man, I used to watch Welcome To Our Neighborhood all the time. Clown still gives hokey larger than life answers to questions and it’s so lame. This video made me laugh because Craig used to call himself 133 - I completely forgot about that.
Honestly this is my favourite album of the year by quite a margin at this stage. This is everything I wanted Slipknot to be in 2019 and more that I never thought they would be. Melodies are so good, the heaviness is brought with such feeling and meaning rather it being a default state. I also think as an album journey, it's the most cohesive thing they've written. The second half is just outstanding. I still think Iowa is probably their peak but this is some record to bring out twenty years into your career.
Managed to get tickets (those prices tho ouch) to see them in February. Feels like I'm 10 again. Behemoth are opening so it looks like I'll have some listening to do beforehand
Going to the Dallas show tomorrow. Only got a lawn ticket since everything else was sold out and $150+ on stubhub. I'm determined to get down to the pit though. Gonna make it happen.
There are some really good tunes on here but it’s rather forgettable to me. I haven’t gone back to it in weeks.
I would have put All Out Life at the beginning of the album personally, but sure. Wonder if that means they have worked out some of the legal issues with Chris.
I'm pretty glad AOL isn't on the album personally. it bangs, but the lyrics are pretty bad and would stick out on a sore thumb on an album as personal and self-reflective as this
I don't have the album booklet but Wikipedia reckons all the percussion was done by Clown - Chris is only credited with playing percussion on AOL.
Jay Weinberg got engaged a few weeks ago, and he got the ring from my work haha. We’re a really small, artisan company (a staff of 10 ppl) so I was super pumped!
