yes. not to say that her influence isn't there, but the idea that she has somehow drowned out their entire sound is so so annoyingly overstated

the biggest Annie Clark influence is definitely LOVE which sounds like the fucking B-52s which is incredible

 

This album is fucking awesome. St. Vincent was a wonderful choice IMO.

Haven't listened to it yet, I need to hurry up. The knee jerk reactions online with the narrative around Janet leaving + St. Vincent's role are annoying me though

 

imagine thinking adding STV to anything doesn't make it better lol

yea I'd bump up the score especially based on how positive that review is, but numbers are just numbers.

This is absolutely ending up in my top list for the year, might even be #1
