I couldn't get into this one as much as birdie, definitely would be excited for something new.

 

Birdie may be an all-timer for me.

 

Birdie has higher highs, but this record is more consistent while also being kind of weirder, Safe for me

 

Birdie is definitely more of a favorite of mine, easily my favorite thing Jake has ever made and I love every song on it. It has a warmth to it that reminds me of calm early summer mornings and it feels super nostalgic while only being 3 years old. I definitely think this is a great follow up though and has some of his best songs like Black Oak, Map of the Stars, etc. Only songs I ever skip are Petersburg, an interlude, and occasionally The Dogs which kinda kills the momentum for me.

 

I’m spinning both tonight. Just got done with Safe.

Just put on Birdie.

 

Birdie is the perfect taking a walk in the early morning album. That is all.

 

He has a posted a teaser every single day this month...this better be a full album after all that.
