relistening to NTMT in anticipation. still holds up nearly 9 years later. hopefully Capitol wises up and does a repressing, because i regret not grabbing it when i first started collecting back in the day.

 

I'm not getting myself excited for anything here, already was burned once with Downhill Lullaby being so terrible

Stylistically is pretty cool, mixing feels weird on it to me, but not too aggressively. Definitely better than DL

 

still not holding out for a 2022 release, but i'm glad to know there's some semblance of an end in sight (i guess moreso than in 2019?). if she's stuck with the Masochism title for years, i'm curious what she's had in mind for the themes and sound since its inception.

Saddened but not super suprised the album isn't done yet, but at this point I don't mind waiting a little longer for the rest.

 

The press release references the Stereogum article that says it’s one of their most anticipated albums of 2022 so maybe that is a sign it’ll be out this year?

 

I hope so, but I wonder how the vinyl delays are going to factor into this if the album isn't close to a finished state. Maybe she'll end up in a situation similar to Night Time, My Time aka the album will be completed at the last minute.

 

Hopefully it will come out in the fall. Definitely not expecting a summer release lol
