Quest for Fire is just a ridiculous collection of bangers. Excited to dive into the next one now.

 

Came across a video on Tik Tok last night. It was FFTL performing "Note to Self" at a Warped Tour date. They sounded so bad. No one was in sync with each other. the vocals were off. One of the comments was "back before everyone was playing to click tracks"

It was very weird watching that performance.

 

i checked it out and expected worse but it wasn't that bad. i checked out the page and the latest video was saves the day and chris sang at your funeral without moving his feet at all like he was singing the national anthem and it was the most uncomfortable performance i've ever seen.

 

Both these albums are pretty enjoyable, good stuff

 

Huge fan of the more dance oriented one, the chill one is cool too but not really the kind of thing I’m into anymore

Back to jamming QFF a ton… when it dropped, something was just off with the mixes… and I was enjoying it regardless, but I put the album back on the other day and it sounds like the mixes have been updated!

Hitting so much harder for me now! Sounding way more polished!

 

Yeah there were a few tracks that had a weird constant fade from the start to end of track, was on like.... 3 of the songs. That was fixed a few days after, then a few other nominal changes have been made since then as well

 

I’m just confused how something like that happens for something as big as a Skrillex album…

All the DJ sets and pre-release stuff had that better mix, then the album comes out sounding more rough… Maybe just something as simple as the wrong mixes getting submitted… Either way, very strange!

 

interesting - what songs on QQF specifically have been enhanced since the first drop?

 

Notably different mixes on the vast majority of the first half of the album, I’d say… also the closer has a different outro, the melody is played out on an acoustic piano.

I truly wish the skrillex x four tet x Fred again Coachella set was longer because yeah in that hour and a half they played I never felt bored at all just constant energy flowing

The final bits of Inhale Exhale always got me like..... lol mannn, what a track.

 

Gonna have a moment here guys lol but the latter parts of the Hazel Theme intro, when that melody hits… it’s like Sonny and Porter almost tap right into my memories, these last few years… the experiences, places I’ve been, the people around me, the love and loss… the good times and the bad… it’s like I see it all in playback.

How they do THAT… that’s incredible.
