Just found these guys through a post by dead tank. Apparently their name translates to Smile To The Wind. Gettin some serious Daitro vibes. Waaaaayyyy into it.
$15k to make a skramz record in 2018? That seems kinda too cynical even for me. Everyone who’s hyped for new JD would do well to remember what their last full length sounded like...
I mean, all the things they mentioned seem to add up. recording, travel, lodging, food, pressing the records and shipping them too...that's a lot of cost considering these are grown ass adults and not a bunch of college kids or something
I’m not mad about it and I guess it makes sense when you factor in studio time with Ballou, travel, pressing, shipping etc but it sure is a long way from self-recorded, hand made cdrs. Just funny how the world/people change. Sounds like they are trying to do this as a ‘serious band’ and make it sound professional, which is probably going to be cool but definitely a long way from what the band was like back in the day.
Post-punk record incoming But seriously I reckon a lot of people are backing this for nostalgia or otherwise thinking they’re going to be getting a rough, intense skramz record, and I think they’re more than likely to end up with something very different
I’m not saying don’t support them, I’m just saying a lot of people are probably going to end up being mad if they’re only wanting/expecting skull split 2.0
This is kinda Deafheaven-y in parts but they cite Envy and City of Caterpillar as influences so I’m posting it here
New Hundreds of AU (Tom of The Assistant/You & I etc.) record!! Tons of other good, recently released stuff on the Middle-Man bandcamp, too.
