definitely don't sleep on the older respire albums. this new one is probably their most melodic, but black line is an especially great record. i'm seeing them play in a cinema on thursday lol
So I got a chance to listen to the first couple of songs of Black Line and Denoument and yeah, I can see how they progressed! I really like both actually, I'm gonna listen a few more times and most likely pick up the vinyl of each. I haven't listened to the very first, Gravity and Grace yet but I saw online it was $40 for that LP and was like wowww. One thing I DID notice was they had a much more emphasis on string instruments where Hiraeth hits you with the horns ASAP. I love both. Have fun at the show! If they ever come down further south to TX or near I'll def check em out live. I'm sure seeing the instrumentation alone would be a sight and sound to experience!
I've been in Colombia for work (bc my job now involves helping run schools about dismantling neoliberal + reimagining new political economies, yay) the last couple weeks but am flying out tomorrow morning. so excited. cannot believe I get to see Raein
I haven’t been this mad at Australia’s time zone difference since the moment they didn’t warn us about 9/11.
I love being at NFF but being from out of town I know so few people. this band called newfound interest in connecticut fucking blew us all away. that was the best set i've seen in a long time.
fest has been so good, not a bad set across both days so far. I had seen them a few times already but terry green still blew me away on friday. the radura set yesterday was a huge surprise. I like their records but I wasn’t expecting them to be that good.
