Went back and listened to Fall River and Spark is a Diamond. Forgot how much I loved those fucking records.
When i realize songs this great have slipped into relative obscurity it really brings me down. But then I try to remember that the art's worth is totally divorced from its acclaim. Its beautiful and perfect in the moments its hitting my eardrums and its special little things like this that make it worthwhile to be alive. Writing that down just made me realize I shouldnt have gone off my meds.
They've been kicking around LA for a while (used to be called VRIL) but this is their first proper LP. Drummer is an absolute beast (also plays in Elle and Curtains).
The album is just a discography plus two new songs, which is disappointing, but the single is excellent so
