I know!! And that's all we have here. I'd have to go an hour and 15 mins to Cleveland if I wanted to go to a freestanding Sephora. And not driving means I basically never get to go so I just blindly buy everything online and hope it works.

 

Yeah it sucks! The nearest sephora to me is an hour away and it's a JCP one. The nearest regular one is I think 3/4 hours away so I look up swatches obsessively and order online while hoping for the best!

 

I have seriously red/pink undertones and the couple times I've been matched lately they've recommended something way too rosy and I'm starting to think I'm not explaining the fact that I hate my undertones and want to not look reddish/pinkish AT ALL.

 

Just got word that my reg wax girl is going to be out a little longer I have to find someone good because I didn't like the two other people they put me with, they way they did my brows was odd and didn't trim them

 

Ugh woke up with my lip split open. I got hit in the face at a concert years ago and it cracked my lip open. Now every time they get even a little dry, even if I just wear matte lipstick a few days in a row, it cuts open in that same damn spot. I don't know what to do about it. I wish I could stop it from doing that but I've tried every lip balm and nothing seems to stop it! My lips didn't even feel that dry so idk why it cut open???

 

Well I caved into the hype and ordered the Tarte Shape Tape. I hate ordering on Ulta bc shipping costs (I wish they would do flash shipping like Sephora or let platinum members get free shipping or something) but I had 20% off so it basically covered the shipping. My Ulta is awful and never has anything in stock and they have a huge wait list for that concealer so I'm not dealing with that nonsense. I hope it's as good as everyone says.

I went on a target run to buy some Thayer toner and they didn't have any on the shelf :( the Nubian Heritage was only bath bombs. No soap bars. Also they were completely out of Schmidts deodorant. I ended up leaving with Botanics toner, Renpure Advanced bamboo coconut water conditioner (hard to choose which one) and Eucerin eczema therapy lotion (it was cheaper than Aveeno and Aveeno was even on cartwheel)

 

Idk how I feel about the Tarte Shape Tape yet because I'm just trying it for the first time today, but it actually matches me!!! I compared it to the Fit Me one I was using (which I knew was too dark but I was making it work) and it is like 2 or 3 shades lighter than the lightest Fit Me. I have no foundation on, put the concealer on my acne and under my eyes and it is covering pretty good. I'm just pumped it actually matches me! Miracles do happen y'all lol

 

Trying to look at sephora for a bday present for my sis but everything I think she'd like is sold out!

 

When I moved there were some issues with my Sephora Play box and the billing address and it ended up being cancelled. I had to go back on the waiting list which sucked but I'M BACK and I'm very excited.

I know there's a subscription box thread but thought I'd post it here instead because makeup.

 

I need a good tinted moisturizer or BB cream... I don't want to go in with a beauty blender every freaking day. Sometimes I just want to put on some mascara and brows and go, but still cover my redness. ugh

Good coverage and not as greasy as some of the ones I've tried. It's like $9 at Target. I think you would like it.

I can't remember if I asked what are some of your fave make-up packagings? I adore Anna Sui but it's super pricey and I can't afford to spend the money bc my skin tone is so hard to match.





She also does clothes and I like some of it buts she does a lot of peasant looking stuff which I have never liked.

 

I remember you asking about packaging. I have many favorite cute packagings. They mostly come from asian beauty lines, usually from Japan and Korea. Physicians Formula also has some cute packaging for some of their items. I saw that Ulta got Skin Food items and I really wish they'd bring that to Sephora. I'm not a fan of Ulta.

 

What's everyones opinion about Soap & Glory product? They have it at my local Target now. I've only really seen it at Walgreens.

 

Love it. The body scrubs are awesome and I love the foot and hand creams. I've never gone for the cosmetics side, though

 

So I may or may not have been listening to Beyonce since I woke up this morning and have been trying to get my hair to look like this:





I can't get the volume and it looks awful everytime I start over. I am also trying to find her yellow dress.

Some people are blessed with hair that will cooperate with any style. My hair doesn't like to do anything no matter how much moose, hairspray, and gel you can put in it. I have so many short ends, cowlicks and flyaways that I'm self conscious about my hair. I usually keep it down and wear a beanie (when I can) or its in a messy bun

 

Preach. I have to put half a container of gel in my hair when I wear it in two french braids. Messy bun 4 lyfe. That's what I mainly do but I have also mastered a top knot to make it look thicker with bobby pins. A lot of people ask me how I do it and I seriously couldn't explain it bc I do it differently depending on how my hair is acting that day.

 

They totally changed the bottle for Thayer toner and now it doesn't look like a bottle of booze.

 

That was part of the appeal to me!

 

I should have bought it last time! It looked cool. Now the bottle is round and less cool looking. Bought the last lavender one on the shelf tho.
