I need to only go shopping with my mom from now on because she gets me to put back all the makeup I don't need lol We went to TJMaxx and they had KVD blushes for like $6. I picked one up and before I could even decide if I wanted it she just gave me this look and said "Jamie, do you really need it?" Nooooooope. Thanks mom for reminding me lol Put it down instantly (but it was really pretty....)

 

Those stupid little racks by the register lines at Ulta get me every time. I got a tiny palette just bc the case was green and glittery. It wasn't even a good deal!

 

I'd have snatched that KVD blush up so fast! I checked my mail and my fan brush got here! Have been wanting one for like a decade and never got around to it. Also got ELF's baked eyeshadow in Enchanted as a dupe for Becca's champagne pop! It's pretty when I swatch it but obv nowhere near the quality of BECCA

 

I'm hooked on the OG naked palette. Use "creep" for my liner everyday. (I just can't do that wing tip stuff) Hubby bought me UD Smoky for Christmas and I've barely used it.

I got Kat Von D Lolita 2 lipstick as a sample (full size!!) and LOVE it but I don't wear a lot of lip product. Always go natural. The first time I put it on, my husband was all weirded out.

 

two giant cystic pimples on my face over the weekend showed up. not today satan, not today. they're the worst! Any tips on dealing with them? i've heard people using blister bandaid things. you cut it into smaller piece and cover it over the pimple over night and it soaks the water fluid but i did it once and it left a weird mark on my face. Im a perpetual picker so leaving it alone is ideal but i just never do which leaves scabs. i take BC for this reason, as hormones are definitely to blame for it. they stay at bay for the most part but i probably get one around my period every three month and the other months no problem.

Thank Jesus for NYX Liquid Suede in Cherry Skies. Holy shit I'm in love. It's pretty much exactly what I've been searching for when it comes to deep red/cranberry? lips. Honorable mention to Revlon Ultra HD in Addiction.

 

Ooh I'll have to check that out. I've been looking for like a deep cran/raspberry but there's none that are deep enough

 

There might be a bit of bleeding and unevenness because I got excited to try it as soon as I got home, but this is a shoddy double thin layer:

 

Oooh it reminds me of NARS' Cruella velvet matte lip pencil but prob like $20 cheaper! It's my fave red lipstick shade! Will have to check it out

 

Oh, nice. I need to compare it to my bundle of Vice samples to see if I can find a match - that might help too. I think I'm still going to be on the hunt for a couple of deeper reds, but this is definitely going to be a go-to.

 

Nyx has such nice stuff tbh! Like NARS is my fave just cause it's so velvety soft and smooth but I'm all about those cheap dupes!

 

Dupes for life. Honestly, the only high-end stuff I've had has been samples or sales (UD Gwen palette, Stila stay all day lip sample, Clinique samples, etc). I think I've only purchased Bare Minerals foundation and the Naked Basics palette at full price... I just can't bring myself to drop that kind of cash. lol

 

I will depending on what it is. Eyeshadow I tend to get high end cause I haven't found drugstore I'm as satisfied with. High end Foundation is better too. But those things last for a while. I only have to use less than a pea sized amount of my foundation so it lasts forever and I rarely hit pan on eyeshadows! Mascara and lipstick and other junk I'll go drugstore /novel

 

I don't wear makeup everyday, not even 80% of the week I bet. I'm sure you guys have gone through this before.but whats your routine?

My husband referred to my routine as a "7 layer taco dip" because of all the steps. Haha

 

Makes sense. I almost bought a Tarte palette today because of how soft the shadows were. But I don't need any more neutral shadows! I need to get through what I have lol. I haven't tried a high end foundation yet, but I know I need to. I have been using Revlon ColorStay and it's been okay, but that might be the next thing I invest in.

Thank god I have so many skincare samples - that'd be another beast entirely.

 

In order!

1.Facewash: Some charcoal cleanser. I tend to switch out facewashes.
2.Toner: Thayers witch hazel with rose petal or whatever
3.Moisturizer: CeraVe
4.UD Primer Potion
5. Whatever eyeshadow. I tend to stan UD but I do different looks across multiple palettes and brands
6. Stila liquid liner
7. Neutrogena sunscreen
8. Face primer. rn it's a Maybelline one that seems to be a dupe of the Smashbox one
9. NYX matte blotting powder
10. Amazing Cosmetics concealer for acne I wanna hide
11. Kat Von D foundation
12. MUFE HD powder
13. ELF brow kit
14. Mascara. I change it constantly. Maybelline Full n Soft and Dolce and Gabbana Passion Eyes are my faves
15. Lipliner. Usually NYX
16. Lipstick. I stan UD and NARS but I use from all sorts of brands
17. Blush. Usually NARS or Clinique
18. BECCA shimmering skin perfector in Moonstone

Except at nights my face routine is a bit longer cause the facewash/toner/moisturizer + I use makeup remover wipes, micellar water, and Retin A. And once a week I do an aztec clay mask and a chemical exfoliator.

 

I have the Tartlette matte palette and I actually love it a lot. One of the few palettes where I will use every color at some point. I used to love Revlon ColorStay but man I got a sample of high end foundation and never looked back.

I think it evens out tho with price. With drugstore I need a lot for any sort of coverage. With the Kat Von D one I use the teeniest amount. Like I barely press on the pump and it's enough! I was upset cause I stan NARS and their sheer glow foundation was rec'd to me a lot but it broke me out bad. I might try it again just to make sure it was that, but like during a break from work where I can hide any causalities lol!

 

Kind of related: A friend face timed me shortly after I got out of the shower. He said oh my god what is wrong with you? And I'm like..wut?.. Then I see in the little square that I hadn't wiped my eyeliner/mascara off very well. It was all down my face haha

I think I was looking at the In Bloom palette. The shimmery shades were calling to me.

 

I'd share my routine, but I don't really have one. But usually at night I use Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair, Ole Henriksen Truth Serum, some eye cream, then top with Luna. Once I run out of these samples, idk what I'm going to do. That's a lot of expensive stuff, but the samples are lasting AGES.

 

I have pretty clear skin which is insane bc I'm the absolute worst when it comes to taking my makeup off.

 

I swear the people who do the least always have the best skin. Really does seem to just be genetics or something. My acne used to be so awful. It's better but not where I want it. I've tried all sorts of routines, from harsh chemically ones with lots of steps to hardly any steps with very gentle products, to everything in between. I've found my fave moisturizer and toner, now I just need a cleanser I like.
