Was gonna see this at the local indie theater to support it and the theater. Watched “Heck” and it was too much. As a kid that was terrified of the dark, it unlocks too many uncomfortable feelings. Plus, it seems like a bit too much for 100 minutes. One of the great things about most found footage movies is them usually being a lean 85-90 minutes.
If Heck was too much for you, it's def probably best to avoid this one. Same premise, but much tighter with genuine scares.
I would go see it in theaters but it's just not playing anywhere near me lol. I'll just wait to rewatch it when it hits Shudder
saw this yesterday w my partner at 9:30am and we were the only ones there (thankful for that, given the stories I have read lol). we both had a good time with it, I feel like I am gonna remember some of the images from this for a long time lol, that final scene might have literally killed me if I was watching it alone at home real late or something.
I’m really happy this is getting some more exposure in the last week or so, but god damn it took a good solid month or more for me to stop being afraid of my own house — all of the content is bringing it right back lol. Simpsonsmarink made me squirm
watched Heck the other night and it’s an amazing companion piece and nearly as terrifying in its own respect. ”I’m sorry I got cancer” and “mommy, I think we’re in hell” are soul destroying moments.
Definitely understand this not being for everyone but don't understand people dunking on this like it wasn't original and incredibly unsettling
I had such a good crowd and I’m so grateful for it! A person behind me was literally crying at the end. There were a few chuckles throughout, but they were the kind that you do when you’re really scared and need to let out nervous energy. All of the jump scares got the entire theater really good, myself included.
Coulda trimmed 20 minutes minimum of shots of ceilings/floors/walls from this, but when it was scary it got me good. That ending was not okay. Fun to speculate what it’s about, if anything.
I don't know about keep you up (depends on how easily things get under your skin), but I was afraid to run up the stairs in the dark afterwards lol
