i am determined to get back out there and skate once this heat dies down a bit. i could realllly use some new trucks and wheels since the ones i have are ancient hand me downs but my deck i got a few years back is still fine since i havent used it as much as i would like, mainly due to how bad my trucks and wheels are.
Heath Kirchart's epicly later'd is a much watch. Dudes my favorite skater and just a cool ass dude. He was also recently on Tony Hawk's podcast
Venue location for skateboarding and BMX at LA Olympics in 2028 (Sepulveda Basin Recreation Area). They might want to think about even bigger stands, ‘cause a lot of people will want to watch these events, especially with them set in the Valley
I totally assumed they would have vert in the Olympics this year and it's mind boggling to me that they didn't
Man I miss skating as a kid. I'm way too big and unhealthy now haha. Gotta go to the gym. A friend of mine's Dad built a 6+ ft tall quarter pipe in their driveway when we were young and it was so fun to screw around on. She was quite steep and scary to drop in on. Broke my arms twice in the same skatepark within a year from each other but it never stopped me Really miss having huge sleep overs with the dudes and watching shit like jackass, Lords of Dogtown, Viva La Bam, and random skate videos
find a skatepark with good transitions and you can still have a good time just rolling around and pumping.
Somehow muscle memory always takes over when I step on a board and I’m fine. Could probably even bang out a kickflip within 20 minutes if I really tried
I loved the world industries branding lol. World Industries and Blind were great “first real skateboard” brands when I was a kid.
Also more of a serious topic but just saw all the allegations that have come out against Chris Cole and I’m super super bummed and angry. I worshipped him when I was a kid and met him and got his autograph and everything. Fuck that guy.
Blind and Element Fiber light were my go-tos. I still have them actually despite the nose and tails being obliterated on them
I feel like Bones Black Swiss bearings were the "cool" thing to have back then too and it's what I put in all of my boards?
I’ve been rocking the alien workshop tech decks for a minute now they just are so fun to me even though
Alien Workshop and Toy Machine had some really great videos when I was growing up. Enjoi and Girl always had my favorite branding. I loved my Girl shirt in middle school. Anytime someone joked about it, it just felt like I was in on something way cooler than they'd ever know.
Baker 3, Foundation’s That’s Life, Zero’s New Blood, and Flip’s Sorry videos. Watched them almost every day before going out to skate. Soundtracks turned me on to so much great music too
