Finally got a chance to see this last night and it just knocked me out. Spectacular.

 

Forgot to update this thread. Digital release was pushed to June 3rd. It was originally going to be this upcoming Tuesday.

 

I wouldn't be surprised that Tom Cruise wants to work with Ryan Coogler as well

fucked up that coogler not wanting/planning to make sequels would be something anyone would need explained to them

 

Fun fact: I recently learned that Halsey was one of the people who read for Hailee Steinfeld’s character.

I love Halsey and am excited to see them in that Americana flick, but the right person obviously got the role, lol. Still a fun bit of trivia, though. They mentioned thinking the script was just a grounded period piece when reading the script in the meeting and thought they were losing their mind when they got to the vampires.

 

That performance scene was great. Lil B’s “I’m Gay” album cover was prophetic.

 

CGI here is terrible, FDTD at least has it beat on that

 

Lol wait a fucking Rod Wave track over the credits might make this a 5/5

 

i’ve only seen halsey in one movie but going off that seems like a bullet was dodged

 

Movie was incredible

I expected a fun period vampire movie. I did not expect the cinematic thesis on american roots music aspect. That was a pleasant surprise and brilliant.

 

Oh and I am 100% down for Coogler's take on The X-Files now. If he can bring even an ounce of that to a monster of the week episode I will be happy.
