Is Ben Seretan anyhow connected to Sinai Vessel or Caleb too or is it just about the shared release date? Thank you for that anyways, cause I haven't seen a word about Ben's new album and it wasn't on my radar, despite the fact that I have listened to his material quite a lot and going back to SV - I'm glad those LP demos haven't disappeared from the streaming world; that release was really cool, and it's SO good to finally hear it all fully fleshed-out
They admire each other’s work, both have been on tiny engines, maybe they’ve toured together (not sure about that one)
Ben and Caleb have toured together. Ben and Caleb wrote each other’s album bios for their recent albums. Ben was a touring member of SV for at least one tour. Ben contributed drones/hum/ambient stuff on “Guest in Your Life”.
Been listening to this a lot in the car and the other day my wife said “He complains a lot about money, which is weird because he’s like a rich musician”, and I laughed and had to clarify things for her. We also now have an inside joke about the “Ha, Ha, Ha” part of “Laughing” because she found it so silly when she first heard it lol. Also, album has grown on me. Window Blue in particular is really great.
Ugh that’s a bummer. Now I wish I had gone to see him back in July despite my previous scheduled plans that day. It doesn’t sound like he’s done with music though so excited for whatever he ends up doing in the future!
Real shame. I feel like Ground Aswim was so good it deserved more recognition and could have kickstarted something. It’s one I still go back to from time to time. The latest (last?) record looked like it might not happen at all, but clearly didn’t have the impact he hoped.
Not surprised but it's still a bummer. He's made some great albums but never seemed to gain any traction.
Sinai Vessel has been one of my favorites for a long time. I’ve loved his evolution he’s gone through at every step of the way. All of his albums have meant a lot to me but Ground Aswim is one of my favorites ever. I know he’s talked a lot through the years about being frustrated with the music industry and almost giving a up a few times before. I hope he still makes and releases music in some capacity and can come to peace with it not being a career. This is so sad for me but I hope he can reach a better place for himself.
if anyone is looking for more sounds to fill the Sinai Vessel void, Aldrich is an excellent option. was just listening to both their newest albums back to back and didn’t realize when Aldrich had ended and the new Sinai started.
Huge, huge bummer, I somehow had felt it coming with the problems to get this new album out (definitely surprised though). I SING is one of my fav releases this year! But even here it only gets to 3 pages of a thread (and ap.net or chorus I'm pretty sure is where I dicovered the band at all). Seems that Caleb is also a quite nice and thoughtful person, it's a shame the music hasn't been getting marketed enough
