Really loved Ground Aswim and have been holding off on listening to singles, so I’m excited to hear everything together! I’m wondering if there’s a Sinai Vessel / Ben Seretan tour announcement coming since they’re dropping albums on the same day, seem to be friends, and toured together in the past (Caleb wrote the blurb for Ben’s new album too).
Didn't think I'd hear another Sinai Vessel song as transcendent as "Guest in Your Life" but "Best Witness" is coming close. Can't freaking wait for this record.
I got it on my release radar and thought it's the whole album already. I think I'll wait till July still ehh, though I really wanna hear it
Here’s my review of the new record. Really solid release, fantastic songwriting. (ALBUM REVIEW) Sinai Vessel – I Sing
Wow, I’m liking this a lot. I’ll listen to this countless times and report back with more details lol.
After listening to this again, I love every song, but I want to re-order it. I don’t like what he chose as an opener and a closer
i think younger brother is a wonderful closer that leaves the record on a really interesting note. i can’t really see that going anywhere else. the opener could maybe swap around but i tend to like it where it is
Yeah, absolutely no issues with the track order here, Younger Brother slots in perfectly after Attack. Was listening to this while making a big dinner for extended family last night and my 62-year old aunt was asking about it because she was digging it.
Yes, the storytelling here is impeccable, really love this record, pretty sure I've listened to it almost 10 times already. One thing for me is how I perceive some of those pieces of artwork for the singles might have been a stronger choice than that final piece for the LP, but maybe I'm wrong (just can't pinpoint really what details does it depict exactly; might need to take a closer look and get used to it)
Still need some more time to let this one sink in before I can make an opinion on it. Was initially a little disappointed with it (I think Ground Aswim is an all-timer), but I’ve liked it more with subsequent listens. I kinda still miss the instrumentation and production and composition philosophy of GA. I also really like Caleb’s lyricism, but it almost feel a bit too minute and zoomed in here. I remember him talking about GA being mostly written with others in mind, and only really the closer being written just for him without needing to elaborate (although I have my theories!). This album feels like it has more songs with the later approach, and seem to be a bit more cryptic and harder to decipher (Or maybe I’m dumb and haven’t taken the time to get a full picture with the whispered vocals that I can’t quite decipher…). Anyone trying out the Ben Seretan album here too? I’ve barely gotten a chance to dip into that one.
this is a very different sounding record than i expected from the obviously wrong assumption i had about this band
