This album is great but the production bothers me a bit, anyone else?

Yeah, there are some weird things about the production, tbh, but after a little while it stopped actively bothering me.

I like this a lot, I need more time with it, but I really love birth blood and the last two tracks on first listen, taking the first couple of singles out of this because it's not my first impression of those, but those are dope as well. overall, completely worth the wait

for how long it took them, 8 songs is not enough. I want more.

Here by recommendation of @teebs41, and I'm enjoying what I'm hearing.

Haven't heard any stray cursing (for those that know me, they know that's something I value in my music), and maybe no cursing at all in this particular album.

Now, the temptation to grab the vinyl is stirring.

A tiny bit, my first few listens I was against it.. here are my thoughts on the production

Vocals - slightly buried but doesn't hurt the songs

Drums- the kick drum especially falls a little flat and I don't love the snare sound, i love how the cymbals are mixed though

Guitars- for me this record has perfect guitar tones. Love the muddy cleans and the high end over drive.

Bass- the bass isn't as noticeable as I would like it to be at times but overall the tone of the bass really fills out the sound.

By now the production doesnt really bother me at all. I'm probably on my 15th listen or so though ha

remember writers don't choose scores there, means the record is "cool" enough for the editorial staff to give something that high rather than like a 7.1

On my fourth listen, and I love it. I find Died On My Birthday to be a little too drastic a shift in tone for an eight tracker, but on its own it's a great song (though it makes you want to curl into a ball on the floor).

Album has progressed for me from its pretty good to its good, to its great, to its definitely going to be in my top 10 at the end of the year. Also just got their debut ( Labor pains ) which I am enjoying a lot as well. I didn't know there was anything before the EP
