I actually pretty much agree with that ranking, I love NOTW so much. That and Swoon are basically equal to me.

 

Yessssss! I battle back and forth between Swoon and Neck for the #1 spot but songs like Make Believe, Busy Bees, and The Pit make it my absolute favorite. It’s a close one, though.

 

Swoon is their best record, NOTW is their most underrated imo

 

Yeah I go back and forth because Swoon is the album that made me fall in love with this band. It is really the thinnest of margins. I think Dots and Dashes is my favorite on NOTW at the moment.

 

Honestly I recommend just starting at the beginning and going in chronological order. So Pikul EP then Carnavas then the rest and also check out Seasick it's a great release. Nikki sings lead on Ribbons & Detours.

 

Surprised with the lack of love from everybody for Carnavas tbh

 

carnavas is better than neck of the woods imo but but both are fantastic, and obviously so is better nature. like all these records are fucking sick and the differences are negligable but my ranking would be

swoon > carnavas > neck of the woods > better nature

 

I think I’d place NOTW and Carnavas pretty much dead even. Better Nature is my least favorite, but it’s also the one I’ve spent the least time with and by no means is it bad. They just have a very solid discography.

 

I would say their 2 most underrated records are their last 2. I have them pretty much all even very hard band to make an album ranking for because I like them all about the same.

 

skin graph is right up there with the royal we in their all time best songs

 

def their best opener imo, and that’s a pretty big accomplishment given the others are all top tier songs too

 

I think that's how I'd rank them, too, if I had to. Though, I really love all four records.

 

Not a big fan of brackets but a SSPU one could be fun

 

Yeah Skin Graphs opens up NotW wonderfully. Such a lush yet moody album.

 

The end of The Royal We gets me so pumped.

 

weird i think better nature is their best record

also do not miss out on “cannibal,” a song that rules

 

I love Cannibal.

 

I think Common Reactor is my favorite SSPU song
