I haven’t listened to them in a bit, and this news came out of nowhere for me, so this has me pumped!

Swoon also a top 10 album for me. Time for a discog listen!

I'll never forget the first time I listened through and the outro of "There's No Secrets This Year" transitioned into "The Royal We" I've been hooked from that moment on. Might have to listen today now

On the flip side, I remember seeing they were in the studio last summer, so I've been expecting/hoping for this news for a long time. Regardless, I'm still very excited for new material! They've been very consistently solid to this point, so I have high hopes for what's to come.

So funny story about how I bought swoon. I was a fan of the singles from carnavas so I was familiar with the band. I was browsing iTunes for new music probably about a week after swoon came out and listened to the 30 second preview of the royal we since I wound up on the SSPU page somehow. It was the best 30 seconds of music I had ever heard in my 16 years on earth so I immediately bought the whole album.

That's awesome. My friend told me I had to hear the record after I actually hadn't been a fan of the singles from Carnavas. I trusted him, and loved it. Then, I went back and listened to Carnavas and wondered why I didn't love those songs from the start.

I guess I need to listen to these guys more! They were one of those bands where I always really liked the songs I heard, but never dug deeper for some reason. I always got major Smashing Pumpkins vibes from them, and now that I’m really into SP and similar bands I think I need to listen to a full Silversun album. Is Swoon the best starting point?

  23. Yes, I would say start with Swoon. Probably still their best album although it's more of a 1a, 1b kind of situation

I actually think Neck Of The Woods is my personal favorite album but Swoon is a good introduction for sure.

    HOT TAKE:

Neck Of The Woods > Swoon > Better Nature > Carnavas

Also their EP Seasick is amazing. Would rank that right up there with Swoon and Neck.
