It is definitley in their list of heavier songs. Like if I was making a top 5-10 heaviest Silverstein songs it would be on that list
My top 5 would probably be Bankrupt, I Am the Arsonist, The Artist, In a Place of Solace and maybe Whiplash or something else from DR. That list isn't in order though.
I'd throw Defend You on my top 5, along with Arsonist, Last Looks, In Silent Seas, and yeah maybe Artist or Fist Wrapped in Blood.
My top 5 without hearing Bankrupt: I Am The Arsonist, The Artist, Born Dead, In a Place of Solace, and My Disaster 2.0
Really curious to hear this. I tend to not like Silverstein's heavier stuff quite as much, but they're such a consistent band, I'm down for anything.
I’m a big fan of this one personally. Can definitely hear some BMTH influence in that chorus but it works for me, especially with how it contrasts with the heavy verses.
I think the "Bankrupt" part at the beginning being so similar to "Teardrops" is the lamest part of the song honestly. The chorus is a little bland but solid enough and I dig the verses.
The intro and the chorus are the weak parts for me but overall they went all out and it worked (for the most part).
I dig it. I also loved their last record. Hopefully this is the start of new music rollout for them into the next album.
They'll probably release another song in like 6-8 months with an album announcement like they did for Dead Reflection and ABPTD
I love this one, it sounds really big and cinematic and reminds me a lot of TIHTWS, which is my favorite album ever. Very proud of these guys' evolution, and they're still undoubtedly my favorite band.
If I’d heard it without context or expectation I’d say it’s a solid form of what a lot of bands are putting out. As a silverstein fan, I think it’s fine, but disappointing. It’s more dark and frantic than heavy, which is again fine, but it’s more accessible/pop-heavy rather than, well, less-accessible-but-more-interesting heavy, if that makes sense. The chorus is cool but I don’t like the verse melodies or lyrics. The “bankrupt” and cash register noise are cringe-y. Put it altogether and I think it’s more than the sum of its parts, it’ll fit in nicely in their discog, but not sure how much replay value it’ll have. They’re one of my favorite bands, I’ll love the future record, but it’s meh for right now.
Kinda a middle ground between the last two records. I like that they feed us so much. idk. good band. glad they're keeping busy.
Listened to ABPTD today for this first in months and I liked it wayyyy more now than I did when it first came out (and I liked it then). DR is my favorite from them still, but I am loving this modern sounding Silverstein. They're pulling this off and it shows on ABPTD and the new song.
definitely a grower of an album, not my favorite but I still think its solid. they just too feature-happy on it I think.
