I just personally think the song is cringe at times - especially the first 20 seconds. It reminds me of some generic mall pop punk song. Also, it derails the record for me. It’s pretty consistent until then but thankfully the song after, Cut and Run, is a banger and return to form.
The Afterglow is one of the best on that album. I'm fine with poppy as long as the songwritings good.
I am ready Silverstein can do what they please. They’ve never failed to deliver for me, and by all examples from their social media, they really believe in this record.
Okay so what are we thinking the single will sound like? A) Classic Silverstein Post-Hardcore Goodness B) Electronic-Influenced Modern Rock/Metal C) High Octane Pop-Punk Jams D) Out Of Left-Field Experimental Pop E) SUPER HEAVY CHUG-CHUG
Based on Shane's comments, I say it'll be poppier but still keep the core Silverstein sound. I don't think they will go full on experimental pop. An album like, let's say, BMTH's Amo wouldn't really make sense coming from them at this time since they haven't shown any sign they were going in that direction on previous albums.
Yeah, me neither. I'm peraonally leaning towards option B, cause something like BMTH's Throne or would absolutely be in their wheelhouse, and push their sound forward.
I had a dream where the new song was extremely pop and the album was coming out next week. I doubt that will happen, but we'll know in 1 hour.
Honestly wouldn’t mind more of a curveball from these guys at this point. I’m sure I’ll dig it whatever it sounds like though.
