Yeah, I consider "The Altar" & "Mary" to be two separate songs, becauae even though they're on the same track, there is a total change at the 2:19 mark.
I thought it might be, he's not quite as bad as on "Arrivals" but I was still hoping I wouldn't have to hear him sing again. Kind of sours one of the best songs on here.
enjoyable, metalcorey, pretty standard for a silverstein album. I worry about its staying power because I feel like a lot of the songs on it sound like,,,songs theyve made before. first three songs go hard !
He's genuinely got one of the worst voices I've ever heard. Like I said he's not quite as atrocious as he was on "Arrivals" but his part would be 10x better with Shane singing it.
I'd probably say it's their worst by a decent margin. I'm sure he's vital I just don't want to hear him sing lol.
never heard this before so just gave it a go and his voice is just like nails on a chalkboard to me. can't stand it.
album is really cool overall for those who found the last record same-y, i'd say that this one has them doing the most new and different stuff that they've done...ever? maybe? it's fun and really surprisingly heavy at points, if lacking lyrically a little. my main criticism is that it loses steam towards the end, and i probably won't ever listen to the closer again. no one ever needs to write another acoustic guitar ballad, there's nothing new to bring to that and i'm bored.
New albums alright, probably middle of the road to me. It doesn't come close to Wind Shifts/Shipwreck/Waterfront/Short Songs and not as dull as Drown/Arrivals.
I find this to be on par with ABPTD - solid but not spectacular. I think the opener Our Song is a lot of fun. It's almost as if they decided "let's write a Bayside song."
