Ultraviolet has been stuck in my head all weekend. I really hope the rest of the record is as good but I would be low key shocked if that was the case.
Very excited about this, I have loved the last 5 releases and betting this one is going to be great too!
wow this is much more classic silverstein those who were clamouring for that sound will be very pleased i think
Lyrically this is lacking though and even though I like it musically - Ultraviolet is still the superior track so far.
Oh man that is what I’ve been asking for. What a ripper. Definitely one of the heaviest songs they’ve ever released and Shane sounds like a beast. I’ve been disappointed with the radio friendly/mainstream rock sound they’ve been going for and wish they would go in this direction if they are going to experiment.
Liking that all 4 songs released have heavy elements to them. Hope it's not like the last album where all the singles were the heavier songs and the rest of the album ended up a bit dull as there wasn't much variety.
I think i’m starting to realize that i’m really into this new sound. I absolutely love this song and the last record has become one of my recent favorites.
I know I’m in the minority but I just can’t get into this new era of Silverstein. They are one of my all time favorite fans, but the last two albums do very little for me.
You definitely aren't alone. The last record was sort of a let down for me. This one seems a little more promising but my expectations are low.
Yeah it’s a bummer because I loved Dead Reflection after being let down a bit by I am Alive. Everything before that was gold. This radio friendly generic sound is very meh to me. Sounds like they are catering to the crowd that hits up those Red State Rock Festivals and I’m not here for it haha
I feel a similar way to this (so far) and the last Silverstein as I do with the latest Underoath record. It's a good fun listen and I do listen to it a bunch, but it feels like the band is just kind of following trends rather than setting them like their older material did. I don't mean for that to sound negative in any way, since like I said, I enjoy the material. Silverstein's last was probably a top 5 most listened to album that year, but it just feels a little less special and more made in the moment to me. Regardless, happy Silverstein and Underoath are still making music though. Both bands meant a lot to my teen years. Excited for this album to drop in full. I do really enjoy the Andrew Neufeld song.
