Let's go!! So hyped for this. In my opinion, I don't think Silverstein has ever missed with a release. Yes, some of the older stuff is dated now, but I've loved all of their albums at some point.
Lmao, that Trevor Daniels feature is so bizarre, but ever since Princess Nokia was on Madness, I've learned to just trust them with this.
So modern. Nothing wrong with the new song, I just liked them a lot more when they were leaning towards a more punk/hardcore sound. Will probably buy the album anyway. /listening to Born Dead.
I don’t mind this more sleek version of Silverstein… when it works. Ultraviolet and Bankrupt are solid (It’s Over is alright but kind of bland) but other songs like Say Yes! and Where Are You are DOA. If Ultraviolet/Bankrupt! are any indicator - I think this new album is going to be overall stronger than A Beautiful Place To Drown
modern silverstein is way more up my street than their older material. loved the last record from front to back, and i'm enjoying this just as much. consider me excited! the video made me chuckle too.
I agree that “modern” Silverstein is overall stronger than most of their older material with the very big exception of Dead Reflection. Every song on DR, aside from the ultracringe track “The Afterglow” is just top tier stuff. Would be so happy to get another record in that vein but I doubt that they’re ever going back to that sound now.
I think DTW, TIHTWS and Dead Reflection are all great records and I'd love another one as good as those. They've kind of always gone up and down in quality so hopefully this is an upswing.
I’ve been a Silverstein fan since DTW and I think The Afterglow is the best song they’ve written. They played it as the encore last time I saw them and the crowd went wild for it
Definitely wouldn't say it's their best song but would probably say it's the highlight on Dead Reflection.
I didn’t realize they released other songs for this rollout. It’s Over and Bankrupt are surprisingly heavy. I liked A Beautiful Place to Drown, but I like these three tracks more than anything on that.
I just hate the song. Anytime Shane tries to go high with his voice - it’s bad IMO As for the song itself in terms of lyrics/music - I guess it’s alright. I would argue songs like Retrograde, Lost Positives, Mirror Box, Cut and Run, Whiplash, and Wake Up are all superior songs.
I’ll always have a soft spot for this band and don’t listen to them as much I used to but I am loving the singles. It’s Over is so catchy. Haven’t anticipated an album from them like this since This Is How The Wind Shifts
They've never really been the band to go to for a big change in sound. The times they have experimented have usually been pretty bad. This kinda seems like a classic Silverstein song with more modern production which is enough of a change for me.
