Haven't listened to a Silverstein album since Shipwreck....anything since then really worth checking out?
Love the bridge. Rest of the song is pretty standard modern Silverstein fare but good. Always something fresh for them to show off though.
I think this song really encompasses all of Silverstein’s sounds since Shipwreck, really into this! This Is How The Wind Shifts and Dead Reflection for sure! Also the song “The Altar / Mary” is one of their best
That is the most Silverstein-sounding chorus I've ever heard. Great song. Is that a Samwise Gamgee quote in the bridge?
I love the heavier verses but then I feel like they have done this same sounding chorus wat too many times the last few albums
So I'm listening through a lot of the discography after falling off after broken is easily fixed (which was probably the only cd in my truck for a straight year in high school). Who can I talk to about How the Wind Shifts because this record fucking riippppps. There are parts that sound like straight up Underoath. And the melodies throughout it are top notch.
If I wasn’t so attached to nostalgia from Discovering the Waterfront, This is How the Wind Shifts would be my favorite.
its a fantastic album, paul marc was a great addition to the band replacing neil, he breathed fresh air into the group and it definitely shows on wind shifts and every album since. i wish the wind shifts ten year annv tour came by me last year but it didn't :(
It's hard for me to get through DTW because I don't think those guitar sounds holds up. Just sounds so muddy and condensed. Hard on my ears.
Having never listened to it and comparing Wind Shifts and DTW side-by-side? Yea, it's a little apparent.
I love all Silverstein albums.. Their newer stuff is soo good. Misery Made Me, Dead Reflection. Can't wait for the new album.
Just read that the song was written about the murder of Shane's partner-- jesus, that makes the song hit different.
Not sure what to expect from new Silverstein as I havnt loved anything since Dead Reflection and the last song released sounded very by the numbers.
Dead Reflection is absolutely my favorite record of theirs (I barely listen to any of the others that came before it at this point) but I did enjoy most of Misery quite a bit so if they can build off that sound and make it interesting - I’ll be hyped!
