Not a collab I would have expected, but I’m intrigued. Only ever really dug one or two Bruno Mars tracks, though.

I was very much put off him because of that "just the way you are" song when it came out haha. Although Uptown Funk is possibly the funkiest song to be released in the past 10 years and the other song of his I like is one that sounds like early 90's new jack swing. I've been meaning to listen to his last album for a little while.

 

I didn't really like Bruno Mars' first album outside of one or two songs but I've really liked the following ones

 

That new jack swing sounding song you’re talking about is off of 24K Magic haha. Definitely think you’ll enjoy the whole album!

Man idk I think some of Bruno Mars’ early singles are absolutely terrible but the 24k Magic era stuff is good. Definitely excited to hear this.

 

I’m all in! I’m happy Paak will be getting more exposure from this.

I don’t totally hate Bruno’s early singles like a lot of people seem to (although they were definitely overplayed), but his music definitely improved A LOT as he went along. I think a lot of that was him fully embracing more of the influences that inspired him to make music originally, and not trying as much to please every type of pop fan. I think he has more of a distinct sound now.

 

I actually had no clue that he was a really good drummer too so that’s really cool
