I've been wondering if Jared successfully lied to Gilfoyle at the end, or if Gilfoyle decided not to point it out to spare their feelings
Yeah, I can get Richard and the other members of the team not realizing it, but people like Laurie or Monica or He Fucks, people who have been playing the business side of the game for years, should've figured that into the equation long ago
I thought about that a bit too and came to the conclusion that Gilfoyle actually believed Jared's lie and that Jared wanted Richard to stay optimistic so badly that he was able to work past his natural inability to lie to make the rising number believable. I don't think it fits with Gilfoyle's character to not call out Jared's lie in that situation just to keep up the team's optimism.
That was pretty out-of-character of Jared to do, ending was very unsettling. Word gets out they are buying active users and Pied Piper is done.
Thought Gilfoyle definitely knew but realized the game Jared was playing and hoping for the best. At best it buys them time, at least. Gavin is definitely going to get fucked in some way next episode. He finally started being punished for his incompetence but crawled out almost immediately, an on the penultimate episode.
I didn't love the episode either. Also the ending felt very out of character for Jared. Still I'm curious to see how this all ends up.
Yeah, I don't look at this show to make me laugh 100% of the time. Watching them go through a dark period is super interesting to me.
They should have just used Bernice to explain it to people since she clearly understood it.. Also I wonder how often this happens in the tech world where an app or platform comes out and it's too complicated for the everyday user
I love when they're wheeling in the opossum and they're like "If you bring in another animal to this conference room..." and then they haul it out really quickly
I'm honestly curious to know how it really works and try to come up with a seamless user-facing interface.
