Sunday's episode was the best one this season, by far. I love the amount of jokes they crammed into it. Wish they did that more often.
I don't think of this show as being the funniest on right now, let alone ever, but fucking hell does it have so many scenes/jokes that will forever be etched in my brain. The s1ep6 scene where Erlich slaps and threatens the kid for selling Richard fake Adderall is just unreal.
This season has been unreal. As much as I've loved this show from the beginning, it just keeps getting better and better.
I still really, really love this show; it's one of the most intelligent and uniquely written comedies on television on TV. All that being said, I can't admit I'm not slightly worried watching this show slightly lose its predilection for plot density/intricacy in exchange for a focus on character and just straight jokes, which is a pattern I've started to see slowly emerge in the past 3 or 4 episodes. Certainly not a bad thing, because this staff writes hilarious fucking jokes often, but such a big part of me loves this show for setting up these amazing roadblocks for this group, watching them get out of it, thinking 'holy shit, I guess they COULD do that' as they get out of it, then watching it all happen again the next week. The amount of rational and plausible plot devices utilized on a season of this show is ridiculous, honestly. I love it.
This is the first episode of the season I loved. The writers have more fun when these guys are living in that shit house.
Monica was wearing the sweater she wears when she gives bad news when she came over to say she didn't like the Pied Piper interface lol.
Hahahahaha Gavin's assistant/PI or whatever is hysterical. "Why are you still here? Why are you so high maintenance?" Gavin has been so great this season, such a great combination of a lack of self awareness and megalomaniacal evil CEO. I love that the court ruling from last season has undercut him and had consequences on Hooli this year. Bighead and TJ Miller have also been hilarious the last couple episodes. The physical comedy of a backpack with two cannonballs in it was fantastic. Erlich selling his shares was actually a little emotional, then I loved every prank call from Jian Yang. Looking forward to a big development to close out the season. This season's been super great, but the last two seemed to have a clearer central through line. I'm interested to see if they're going more subtle, if the push and pull with Hooli is going to have a big payoff.
oh my god at Jian Yang's prank calls and Jared remains the best "my imaginary friend was Harriet Tubman we used to plot our escape" your each others' best friends fuck you Jared jinx you owe me a friendship
Jared kills it again. This was probably my favorite of the season. I'm loving how invested I am in the story
Such a great episode, couldn't help but feel a little bad for Elrich there, such an exciting moment must have been deflating as all hell for him.
I actually do think it's the funniest on right now since Parks & Rec is over. What shows out right now do you think are funnier than SV? Not trying to be a dick just legitimately curious if there's something I need to check out! I know a lot of people think Veep but that show just doesn't hit for me for some reason. Last Week Tonight maybe?
