Too lazy to come up with a christmas themed tagline and just slapped on "action speaks louder than words", you hate to see it

 

I didn’t even know that until yesterday. Makes me want to see it even more.

It's kinda funny because the production tags at the beginning don't have sound and even knowing this I had to question for a sec if something was wrong.


now everyone admit how frequently you had to remind yourself that the guy was Joel Kinnaman and not Alexander Skarsgard

 

This was a little slow getting started with the absence of dialogue (which I thought was a cool gimmick overall) but I had still had a blast. The final act was lots of fun. John Woo is a master at directing action scenes.

 

This sucked.

You're right, the final act was fun. But the preparation montage went on for way too long. Dude was upset about a stray bullet killing his son, then just went recklessly driving around shooting guns.

 

it was pretty ridiculous for sure. and the first act and a half was kind of a slog

 

Damn, i fell asleep a few times during the first half. The no-dialogue gimmick did not land with me at all.

Also found it amusing how even though the guy looks out for cops, his actions kept putting cops in danger.

 

Is the entire movie no dialogue?

 

Pretty much, aside from some like chatter on the police radio.

Agreed. This was okay just like No One Will Save You was just okay. To me the gimmick is too obvious. It makes no sense that we don’t hear this guy’s wife say a word to him and it stands out like a sore thumb.

yeah no one will save you was a 30 minute twilight zone idea stretched to 90 minutes.
