This band seems to be in the news for all the wrong things as of late. https://consequenceofsound.net/2019/03/sigur-ros-tax-evasion-indictment
Saw sigur ros for the first (and only) time in 2006. To this day, it's still the most unreal show I've ever been to.
Takk was my first. Agaetis is a great starting point though. A masterpiece IMO. Probably the best “sunrise” album of all time.
When I first listened to Sigur Ros, I was still a teenager, but it completely blew me away. Probably my first full introduction to post-rock too. I can’t lie- it made me appreciate life more. I took notice to nature more and slowed down, became more thoughtful and deliberate. I attribute that to the music for some reason... there was something truly powerful and transformative about those first few listens. Wish i could experience that again. I remember seeing them live years after discovering them, at a park venue in the summer. It was super crowded and their performance was so rich with sound and it enveloped everyone in a hypnotic state. The visuals were also spectacular. One day I hope to see them again, definitely one of the best shows I’ve ever seen.
a snowboard magazine reviewed () and got me interested, then I came across Takk in a Target and it had cool packaging so I got my mom to buy it for me, and then Staralfur in Life Aquatic really got me in.
