Glad I held off on grabbing the standard vinyl. Gotta have Bad Life on wax!

So basically "up close" " out in space" and "by the piano" are all just extra descriptors for variations of Acoustic cuts, got it

ready for this to emotionally wreck me. there's a real sadness to this record and thats going to come out ten fold on acoustic/piano versions

    Theses versions are so good

I can't believe that some of these versions actually make me like the song. Maybe that's the main issue with this album, the arrangements just aren't very inspired. Honestly prefer a majority of this album in the Special Edition versions.

Hoping this gets me back into Sigrid, the last record fell off hard for me.

Yeah last one didn't quite click for me either

  15. People not obsessed with the stripped back versions of the last album? Wouldn't be me.

  16. Honestly haven't heard them - you think I would dig them if I didn't love the record itself? I liked some songs but overall felt it wasn't as strong as the debut

  17. Her debut's one of the strongest debuts ever, so, I don't hold a good but not as good against her that much. But, yeah, the special edition version is awesome.

Stripped back versions are much better than they have any business being. Main album is unfortunately not that good. Her debut was packed with songs that are uniquely Sigrid, sounds like no one else. This album is full of faceless songs that could be any number of pop singers. For lack of a better term, it's dumbed down.

It Gets Dark is my favorite Sigrid song.

  21. That album is full of songs so personal, so uniquely her, something that really shines in the piano versions, that I just can't agree with it being faceless.

    I do not exist.

To begin with I thought the second album was a step down from the debut but I’ve kept it in rotation and the more I listen, the more I love it. I think on the surface it does have a more uniform and standard sound, but there’s a lot of depth to it. Yes, the debut is unique, but her fingerprints are all over this more mature offering. She’s brilliant - the stripped back songs highlight her talent. I can’t wait to see what she does next and I’m thrilled there’s a single so soon!

I think both albums are super bland and run or the mill for pop music but she can knock out a memorable hook here and there. I feel like the potential is there but most of what she's put out so far hasn't delivered yet.

edit: Feel like I woke up and chose violence in this thread, my bad lol

Never got around to the stripped versions, surprised to hear so much praise. Will rectify that!
