pretty enjoyable first listen of this album. It's definitely more straightforward than the debut, but still a lot of good stuff on here. Dancer and A Driver Saved My Night are two early standouts

Seeing her tomorrow night here in Oslo for her first arena show! Another great Norwegian female artist SKAAR is opening for her too

May I ask how you were able to listen to it? Even with a VPN you can't listen to music in other countries if it's not out yet in the country where you registered your account, which sucks

Also, kinda cool story - back in February my work here in Oslo decided to spend a work day cross country skiing in the forest north of the city, and in the afternoon on the way back to our transport we passed Sigrid skiing the other way with some dude.

sounds like something made up off the cuff haha. "Oh yeah, I totally saw Sigrid cross country skiing in Noway the other day"

"Mistake Like You" is huge, and the echo effect on her voice in "Grow" is lovely, but the rest feels like more standard pop tracks, which I'm not that into

Hahaha, yeah it's a bit on the nose, but because of the small size of the country, stuff like this happens more often than you'd think. My boss said that Norway's most famous female skier ever passed us that same afternoon as well. And while eating out with a friend in February at night, we saw Norway's previous prime minister (before September of last year) walking the street right outside our window, all by herself. Quite weird, haha

It's definitely missing a big part of what I loved about the first album, which is where so many of the songs take you on a journey through multiple parts and mini-suites kinda, but fit together so well. A lot of these songs feel like they stay in one lane, so I just miss that bit

Y'all are wild, these songs are immaculate. Wonderful addition to her catalog.

Damn, I adored this record. Listened a couple times through on my run today and it was perfect for that.

We reach for the longest shadow

I'll keep listening, but nothing grabbed me like In the Mirror or Burning Bridges. Maybe A Driver Saved My Night.

    Just vibes all night

She played for like an hour and 20 minutes; felt like she played both albums front to back, haha

    I do not exist.

On my third listen. I like this a lot but I do feel like, on the whole, this has lost a lot of the unique sparkle of her debut. It’s not bland but it’s more standard pop music than I expected. Thankfully it’s done well but after Mirrors my expectations were high. So difficult to do the second album. This is definitely not a miss and I imagine it will grow on me even more as I digest it.

I will say though, "Bad Life" went hard last night; had the whole crowd rockin'

Did you enjoy the song a bit more without Oli popping in to be annoying?

Go straight to her debut album, Sucker Punch

  25. This kinda feels like that Maggie Rogers album from a few years back. Still pretty good, but definitely more faceless than Sucker Punch. I miss those punchy synths!

Edit: god I forgot how bad Oli sounds on Bad Life. He sounds good on BMTH stuff, not sure what went wrong here.
