I got a shipping notification for this last Friday, which seems VERY early, but also I don't hate it!
Record showed up yesterday. Definitely a more experimental record than the last one. The songs we haven't heard are all really solid with a lot of interesting stuff. Gotta give it another listen with headphones to see what else pops out in the mix.
Liking this a lot, feel like it's their first release that's really stuck with me; I don't remember listening to any of their other albums more than once or twice but maybe it's time to revisit. Perhaps I just prefer the EP format from them - short and sweet, not a minute wasted. Love the chorus on Sanctuary City and that Sincere Engineer feature.
Yeah I was bummed about only 6 songs when it was first announced but I think the shorter format actually works really well for them
Overripe west side summer sun setting Splitting earbuds on the bus, Carole King and Otis Redding Every time I listen to this album, those two lines just repeat over and over in my head for the rest of the day. It's just too good.
Hey all, I recently wrote a retrospective about "Light on the Lake" for Track Seven. Figured some of you might like to read it! Diamond In The Riff: Light On The Lake
thanks @thesidekicksuicide for telling me about Maxwell Stern's solo album. Had no idea this was a thing. It's really good.
