Interesting. Didn’t Benicio murder children in the first one? Hope we’re not supposed to see his character as a hero in this.

Hmm, the trailer makes me nervous that their taking it too far in the action movie direction. That wasn't really the beauty of the first. Though, it could just be a marketing thing.

 

This doesn't need to exist, and I hate that it's called "Sicario 2", but I'm for sure going to see this since the first one is nearly a masterpiece.

 

Narcos the Movie is something i will watch, yes

 

Seriously. I understand why, but it's so ugly.

The TRAILER leans heavily towards action, but I'm not worried. I trust Sheridan to write something that isn't just Sicario characters in an action movie. I'm excited

It was just pointed out to me that Sicario 2 Soldado translates to Hitman 2 Soldier.

That’s....maybe something.

 

Yeah why not just leave it as Soldado? Annoying.

Also does it bother anyone else the way Benicio unloads that clip with his finger haha.

 

I wasn't bothered by it at all; it looks like a deliberate move by him to fire the gun, so there must be a reason behind it

 

Someone pointed out he does it so it looks like there were multiple shooters and it’s a real technique

 

Sicario was so special and I have a feeling that this won't be.

 

Everything that Sheridan has done has been wonderful, so I won't doubt him until he proves me wrong.

 

Yeah if this were a shameless cash-in with an entirely different creative team I wouldn't be interested, but Sheridan wrote the screenplay so it's at least going to be well-written and (due to the cast) well-acted. It probably won't be as well-directed without Villenueve, but I'm going to see it because of Sheridan's involvement alone.

Too bad this didn't get made long enough after Wind River for the studio to see how well that turned out; wouldn't have minded them just letting Sheridan direct it as well. I enjoyed that one quite a bit.

Yep I would have loved to have seen Sheridan direct.

 

If this turns out to be just a decent action movie then I guess I'll be pleased. No Villeneuve and no Emily Blunt to ground the rest of the characters, it will never have the same feel of the first.

 

Also now it's called Sicario: Day of the Soldado

 

Also that trailer is awesome. One of my most anticipated for the year

 

This is so stupid. Changing the title to something even worse/more dumb. I don’t get it, I really don’t. Someone at Sony needs to get their goddamn head checked.

 

This has a lot to live up to. First one is a modern masterpiece.
