  6. I thought I liked religion way more at first but then I re-listened to BKLYNLDN and the last last minute or so of that one still puts it over the top for me. Both songs are fantastic, this is gonna be one hell of a record

I think Religion is my favorite song of the year so far. Excited to check out the album! Seeing her in October too.

definitely is top heavy with the groovy bangers, but the back half is very chill and pleasant. solid album!

it feels very neo-soul in spirit, drawing on sounds from ‘70s and ‘80s r&b but with this singer-songwriter feeling underpinning it. minnie riperton travels through time and makes a record about being a lesbian

Have any of you ever seen her live? Considering going to see her in October and wasn’t just curious.

I saw her open for tegan and sara when the first record was out, she was pretty good! I remember someone playing an electric drumkit standing up.

I unfortunately did not love this off my first listen. Probably a more consistent album than the last but nothing on here strikes me the same way as the best stuff on Nothing’s Real.

  24. This has been an insane release month and this is totally failing by the wayside for me as a result. I keep starting it and liking what I hear and then feeling the urge to switch to something else about halfway through

Given this a few spins and while I love “religion”, nothing else lands with me. Who knows, maybe I’ll find it really suits listening in winter or something. Kind of a drag since I adored Nothing’s Real, but I am glad most other people seem to enjoy it.
