Yeah I loved this a bunch. I think it can be a bit cloying and overly wholesome but I think it was awesome overall and I am interested to see how Jimmy’s unethical practices get tackled
Not to yuck anyone’s yum, but I found this to be increasingly grating and I love everyone involved with this. All the characters talk the same, it plays to Segel’s and Lawrence’s worst intentions and tends to undermine a lot its moments of honesty with wackiness. For me, “Ted Lasso” runs laps around this.
The girl that plays Alice is so good man. It’s took me a minute to acclimate to the very expressive mannerisms, but her animated approach to the character honestly lights up the screen every time and complements the tone of the show perfectly Wholesomeness aside, both Jessica Williams and Harrison Ford are unbelievably funny in this. I know Ford is a star and all but I didn’t realize he had comedy like this in him. The taunting kiss at the guy interviewing Gaby got me good
“But dad’s on a health food kick!” “I know where he hides the good stuff” *opens freezer to immediately reveal an entire frozen pizza sitting in plain sight on top of an enormous tub of ice cream, as if these things would be anywhere else*
I fucking loved this. Watched it all in a day. Might be better than Ted Lasso, or as good at the least
Sorry for the bump with no news but I FINALLY got around to this and it's fantastic. Such a great role for Segel, I'm so glad he's doing a big project like this again. Williams and Ford are really great in this too; it's a bit surreal to see Han Solo/Indiana Jones as just part of a comedy ensemble like this but it really does feel like he's putting in a lot of effort and he's really fucking funny or heartbreaking depending on what it calls for Sure, some of the story elements may be a bit saccharine/unrealistic but who cares, it's a great feelgood show
I'm 4 episodes into this and really really like it, I shouldn't have put it off for so long! I think Jason Segal is my favorite actor, is that weird?
