I thought that too at first, but then I reconsidered how they're both dark comedies about overcoming grief by relying on one's community/found-family
Yea man I just finished as well and thought season 2 was incredible. Segel and ford give their best performances. Blends the humor and emotion perfectly.
Wife and I ran through all of season one last week. Jason Segal legit might be my favorite actor. He sells goofiness, anger, and grief so well. Often in the same scene! Seeing Ford in this type of role is a blast. I was worried he'd be more of a curmudgeon archetype, but he has so much depth and humanity. Derek is the MVP, though. "Eat a dick, Pam!"
I would consider him my favorite actor, I don't really have any favorite actors in general so it's not a high mountain to climb
