This was fun. Like, idk, it was dumb, but my sister and I had a good time with it! There’s an egregious Skittles product placement that culminates with Darla riding a mean unicorn and declaring “taste the rainbow, motherf-”; what more could you want?
That’s fair. I guess after “Black Adam,” I feel I’m a little bit more hasty with giving 2+ hours of my time to the DCEU. I’d say the same about the MCU, but GOTG3 is next up and I’m very excited about that.
I mean, I think 2 hours is really not that much time. But, again, do whatever. Maybe wait for it to hit HBOMAX or something? I think it’s worth seeing if you like these types of movies. But if you have a decent home set up, you don’t need to rush out to see it now.
I mean, we have finite number of 2-hr movies that we’re able to watch before we die (not to mention other things that one could do outside of movies). I came in with a preexisting affection for some of these Fawcett Comics characters, and I had quite a good time… but I cannot fault anyone deciding to watch fewer cape movies, lol.
I mean, you could use that logic for pretty much anything. He can do whatever he wants to, of course. But there is enjoyment to be found here, IMO, even if it’s not the greatest.
Got some Comic Book Nerd thoughts related to this film, which I’ll go ahead and throw out because there’s not much to say about this film besides “yeah it’s fun”: - If/when this world is explored again in film (or a similar format), I hope Mary Marvel gets a proper spotlight. Last year’s New Champion of Shazam! miniseries by Josie Campbell & Doc Shaner is one of the best “Big 2” superhero comics in recent years. Gorgeous art, very charming, lots of fantastic comedic and emotional beats. Cannot recommend it enough. - Also wish a proper Tawky Tawny had made it into this duology. Would’ve fit in quite nicely imo. What a perfect lil gentleman. - Love Mister Mind. Too bad we’ll never see him onscreen outside of a couple silly credit scenes. Dude was a full on cartoon worm Nazi collaborator who was tried at The Hague, executed in a tiny electric chair on top of a normal one, and then stuffed and put in a museum. Comics, y’all! - It’s too bad Wonder Woman as the daughter of Zeus is so canonized at this point. Truly misses the whole point of the character. She’s supposed to be formed out of clay by an island of mythological, scientifically-advanced lesbians; why would she be retconned into the daughter of the most famous mythic rapist??? Some losers simply shouldn’t be trusted with fantastical comic book goodness.
this isn’t the worst movie ever but it almost serves as an example of how wb/dc learned nothing about ww84’s failures
Pretty awful and at least two jokes stolen from two different movies. Meagan Good was awesome, though.
It’s also mean because Zegler’s a seemingly genuine, nice person on social media who was happy to be in this. People on Twitter are just assholes.
I can’t imagine having to deal with the Snyder portion of DC fans. Just unrepentant freaks who got their way once and now want it all the time.
Checking the other quote tweets on that Leila tweet led me to discover that corn flakes were meant to make people less horny???
