I have a hard time believing he didn’t know how people would take that tweet even if he meant it as the corporation and their practices.

I love following projections, haha. Was surprised at the dip from the first one.

That’s cool. And I’m not saying to not post about them or anything.

I just opened it and thought to myself, “oh is this out this week? I thought it was just Cocaine Bear.” Then I see 3/17 release and just roll my eyes so damn hard. I get interested during the opening weekend. Normally Friday, so we can actually get some actual numbers in play. But 3 weeks til release? Giant who cares.

Totally fair. When I saw the article I thought it was coming out this weekend too, haha. Will be curious to see if the numbers pick up. Would be nice- I really liked the first one.

I liked the first one a lot but I have really low expectations for this. The trailers have been bad.

you have to imagine that this movie being seemingly inconsequential to the future DC movies is going to affect the box office

I mean, I expect it to be fun, like the first one. That’s about it.

Luckily, I don’t watch any live TV. But hard to not be online.

Not a shock, but reviews coming in are tepid.

    This was fine.

it was entertaining throughout. There is a heart to the movie, but it got bare minimum screen time. To the point where Mary just explains Billy’s arc relating to his position in the family.

I think Freddy and Anthea had the best story together as they got a lot of time to interact and give life to it. I think Freddy is the secret MVP of this movie. Thought his story was solid and liked how they showed his power, without his powers.

I think they could have cut one or two (or shorten) of the mid movie fights and gave more breathing room to the Billy/Mary, Billy/mom, and Hespera/Kalypso/Anthea dynamics, at the least. I think that could take this from decent to pretty good, letting the conclusion of those combos hit harder.

There is a mid and post credit scene. Neither really signifies the future of these characters though. The one ties into Black Adam, so I am guessing that is a dead end. The other could go either way.

oh, this is this years age gap movie haha

For a second I was kind of hoping Billy was gone. At least until a potential sequel, but I knew Wonder Woman was showing up, I assumed he would be back momentarily.

I’m sure I’ll have more thoughts as others post and respond to it there.

Nobody else saw this yet? Dang. I feel like this is the biggest movie thread that has no other posts from people seeing it that I’ve been in. I know it’s only been a day, but usually for a movie like this I’m not the only one who has posted about it.

Saturday afternoon for me, that's what I typically do for whatever big movie is out on any given week

Plus my friend that's way more into DC stuff than I am wasn't free until Saturday

I think it’s gonna be a skip for me. I liked the first one, but felt kind of burned by wasting 2+ hours on Black Adam, which now means nothing to the DC Universe and isn’t good as a standalone film. Knowing Gunn really doesn’t have any plans for this, I just feel like maybe it’s best to leave the first one as the only one in my memory.

I don’t think we know Gunn’s plans for this though? And this one was kinda fun? I mean, do whatever. But I don’t think we know Shazam and family’s fate.
